Student Government-Created Resources

CO-OP Voucher Program

In winterim 2022, we reinstated our CO-OP voucher program to provide students in residence with $50 gift cards to buy groceries and other items. We aim to run the program during breaks throughout the year and supplement with community donation drives at the end of each term.

Dartmouth Coach Vouchers

In the past, Dartmouth Student Government has offered Dartmouth Coach vouchers in an effort to make travel more accessible to students on campus. This was offered to the entire campus and only 100 students were selected. However, in Fall 2022, we decided to partner with the Financial Aid Office in order to prioritize students who demonstrate financial need. The office directly contacts students with minimal expected financial contribution (EFC) on our behalf at the end of each term. We modified our program because we can offer only a limited number of fully paid one-way tickets and wanted to prioritize those who have a 0 EFC. We recognize that this is not a perfect system and recognize that some students with financial need may not receive a ticket. We are continuing to explore options to expand this program to better serve students and will update you with our future plans.

Food Pantry IN Dick’s House

We regularly stock a Food Pantry in the basement of Dick’s House that is available at no cost to students 24/7, no questions asked. We have donated over $10,000 of goods to food-insecure students since current President David Millman ‘23 restarted it in the Fall of 2020.The Food Pantry has refrigerated foods and non-perishables. We encourage all who need access to items to utilize the Food Pantry this summer.

The IdeaLab for Mental Health was founded in Winter 2022 by Vice President Jessica Chiriboga ‘24. In Fall 2022 and Fall 2023, the IdeaLab for Mental Health provided FIVE $1,000 grants for student-led projects addressing mental health and wellness at Dartmouth, to be implemented over the accompanying winter and spring terms.

  • Fall 2023 Grant Application [Closed]: Currently-enrolled students were welcome to apply, including those on off-terms, as long as the project addressed wellbeing at Dartmouth. We were not looking for any specific kind of project; rather, we wanted to support projects that were creative, innovative, and could help campus!
