Dartmouth College Democrats
General Info
Mission:
The Dartmouth College Democrats is an independent student organization at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. With a particular focus on political activism and issue advocacy, the College Democrats aim to get all students at Dartmouth College involved in the political process. Last fall, the College Democrats worked tirelessly to expand our organization and contribute our energies and skills to elect candidates who will bring the change that this country so desperately needs.
In the 2008 election cycle, we worked hard to introduce the Democratic candidates running in New Hampshire to the students of Dartmouth College. We believe that students hold a vital stake in who wins elected office, and we know that students are a major electoral force driving elections today. That is why we work to enrich the political discourse on campus and introduce students to those candidates asking for their votes.
We have a strong record of connecting with the Dartmouth Community in meaningful ways. We strive to ensure that every student registers to vote, that students have an opportunity to get involved in the political process, and that students enjoy a respectful climate for political discourse. Partnering with the Rockefeller Center for Public Policy, we bring speakers to campus, hold information sessions for internships and volunteer opportunities, and hold forums with the College Republicans and other campus groups.
