Amnesty International
General Info
Mission:
The Amnesty International Student Group promotes human rights education in the Dartmouth community and thus creates awareness of human right violations around the world.
About:
Amnesty's commitment arises out of the belief that "only when people are made aware of the various human rights violations will they be able and willing to act in defense of the fundamental rights of all people." Students and members of the Dartmouth community explore issues of conscience through open dialogue, debate and socially responsible action. Amnesty's mandate, on which we base our own work, is derived from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the basic UN human rights document.
