Student Assembly's Guidelines for Cosponsorship

Student Assembly's Guidelines for Cosponsorship

While Student Assembly was not created as a cosponsoring body and does not receive funds for this purpose, we realize that sometimes our funds and time can best be used to help other organizations achieve their goals. We are excited to have this opportunity and encourage those organizations that need assistance, whether it be financial or logistical, to let us know of your needs.

Student Assembly may choose to help financially, logistically, or both. If we choose to help financially, we will most likely require that we play a significant part in the logistics and implementation of the program or event as well.

The following guidelines apply only to those requests which do not come from within Student Assembly. Student Assembly reserves the right to determine whether or not a program or event fulfills the requirements and whether or not to cosponsor, and to make this determination in any way the Assembly sees fit.

Programs and events must adhere to the following conditions to be considered:

1. The program or event is consistent with, and enriches, the Assembly's and current executive board's goals.

2. The program or event benefits the whole or a large portion of the student body and student community. For the most part, programs or events must have lasting impact (usually educational), to be granted support.

3. Alternative methods of funding are being pursued, including applying to COSO, Programming Board, and Collis Governing Board. For those organizations, programs, or events that fulfill Programming Board and/or COSO's and/or Collis Governing Board's funding guidelines, the alternative methods of funding must be exhausted before Student Assembly will consider the proposal.

4. The program or event has a clear purpose, full logistical planning, and all other required forms of support.

Thank you for looking to Student Assembly for assistance. We are always here to help you enrich Dartmouth and the Dartmouth community.
